A catch-all email mailbox receives emails sent to invalid email addresses under the exact same domain. For instance, an email message sent to the mistyped suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. Thus, you can receive messages from buddies or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling error or to an out-of-date one, which they may still have, but you have already deleted. Only one single mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for such a mailbox. This is due to the fact that at some point you may begin receiving spam messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction means that the spam will not be delivered to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting

If you have a Linux cloud hosting with us and you would like to enable the catch-all functionality for a particular email mailbox that you’ve got in the account, it’ll take literally just a single click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to do this. A catch-all button is available on the right side of each and every email address that you have set up under any domain hosted in the account. You can select one address per domain by clicking the corresponding button. This will enable the feature instantly, so all email messages sent to mistyped email addresses will be received there. Clicking the button once more will turn off the catch-all feature. If you have activated email forwarding, our system will display a cautionary note and you won’t be able to activate the catch-all feature till you remove the forwarding or you can simply select a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.
